Exhibition “IdeenPark” 2008 and 2012

The SkyDragon has already been introduced to the public. As a 23 m long prototype the HAP-prototype participated twice in the big Technology Exhibition “IdeenPark” 2008 in Stuttgart and 2012 in Essen. This initiative launched by Thyssen Krupp has been realized from the respective regional states and more than 120 partner organisations (firms, institutes, research facilities). The Technology Exhibition „for hands-on and participation” about future technology stimulated the dialog between science and interested parties.

Particularly young people, our precursors and engineers of tomorrow, were attracted by the presented projects for instance engineering management, future traffic concepts, bionic and flight technique.

The TAO High Altitude Platform SkyDragon advanced quickly to the “favorite of the public”, so the Stuttgarter Zeitung titled in 2008. And in 2012 in Essen the High Altitude Platform prototype had thousands of amazed visitors at their prominent exhibition place between Aerodrome and Space Mission Launch Center.

World premiere – The TAO SkyDragon at the EuroMold 2005. A “3D Design in Motion”- Award for the flying HAP prototype

For the first time one of the prototypes of the TAO-SkyDragon was shown publicly to an interested audience. The world premiere took place at the EuroMold 2005 – the world trade fair for tooling equipment and mold making, design and product engineering in Frankfurt/Germany.

In Hall 6.1. – „design + engineering forum“ - the stately sized high altitude platform prototype SkyDragon presented with 23 m length and 2,30 m height its aerodynamic design.

On December 2, 2005 - „Designer Night“ - Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernd Kröplin presented the concept and possible application fields of the SkyDragon as High Altitude Platform in a lecture and gave a survey of the projects worldwide.

For the animated reality film concerning the SkyDragon with flight simulations and real air photographs the jury rewarded the filmmakers of the TAO Technologies GmbH and the ISD with a “3D Design in Motion”-Award. See also “Tec-News” 2005-12-02.
